Are you looking for new creative social media strategy tips to promote your blog?
Me – I love social media – it is my BFF!!
If you are an online entrepreneur and blogger like me, you should turn to the social media world to promote your brand in a big way!
All you need is a good social media strategy. With just a single Facebook, Pinterest or Twitter post, you can reach thousands of people. How amazing is that?!
Use social media to increase your blog traffic!
Social media is one of the best avenues we can turn to for effective brand recognition, and to establish communities around our businesses. Whether you choose to go for Tiktok followers, Instagram crowds, or Twitter people, having that community is vital. You know, I’ve been blogging for quite a while now, and aside from browsing my own blog, I love looking around Pinterest.
Have you tried exploring the beautiful world of Pinterest?! Almost every image in this social media platform is captivating.
I love uploading images here and connecting with my audience. It has started to pay off, and I am able to use it effectively in increasing blog traffic. I went from 179,000 Pinterest views per month to 2.3 million views per month. Pretty cool right?!
How are you planning to use social media to promote your online business?
It all starts by driving lots of traffic to your website. That won’t be easy, though. When I was just starting, I struggled a lot. Coming up with good content, and executing a social media strategy requires tons of effort. As a blog owner, you need to be patient and creative. Let me share with you what I know about being creative on social media.

What is social media marketing?
First of all, let’s define social media marketing. Social media marketing is the use of various social media platforms to gain an audience, establish a brand, drive web traffic and increase sales.
Implementing a good social media marketing strategy means:
publishing creative content on social media profiles
analyzing results, running social media ads
engaging with your readers
listening to your followers.
Social media is so important for blog promotions!
Let’s admit it. There are still bloggers out there who don’t make the most out of their social media platforms. They don’t really care about maintaining a strong social media presence, because all they care about their blogs.
Look, social media may seem superficial and shallow at first, but no it’s not. It’s not about creating viral posts and gaining unnecessary attention. It’s actually the exact opposite!
With transparency and authenticity, you can fulfill these goals:
Increase your website traffic
Drive sales and leads to your website (even affiliate sales)
Offer genuine value to your target audience (promote your awesome brand offerings!)
Establish yourself as an expert in your niche (hehe that is me)
Relationship and community building
Brand discovery and awareness (people will talk more about you – yes AWESOME you!)
The best social media platforms you can use to promote your blog in 2020
So, which social media platforms should you use to promote your blog? There are tons of social media sites out there that you can join to promote your blog and business! Here are the most popular ones:
1. Pinterest
At Pinterest, you can find everything, from dogs and cats to recipes and fashion accessories. For creative individuals, this platform is in itself a search engine.
It’s quite different from other popular social media platforms, though, since it focused on saving content, instead of sharing it. Because of that, you can say that this is not an obvious choice for every business. Maybe you are wondering why it’s still my favorite.
Well, it’s still a must-have for some niches! With the help of keyword-rich descriptions, you can generate traffic and share valuable content and ideas with an engaged audience. I get at least 55% of my traffic from Pinterest!
2. Facebook
Any social media platform list wouldn’t be complete without Facebook! Facebook is still very much alive and thriving this 2020. Several businesses, e-commerce platforms or not, use Facebook as the focus of their social media marketing initiatives.
It’s also important to use plenty of native content to avoid the sharing of outbound links and initiate platform discussions. If you are new in the blogging world and want to reach out to your target audience to promote affiliate products, you can make use of this platform’s amazing ad system to accomplish it.
Facebook ads really can take your blogging business to a whole new level!!
3. Instagram
Instagram is a visual platform that we can all turn to for interesting, stunning videos. Whenever you feel down, and want to look at cute images to relax, just go to Instagram! I guess you already know by now that Instagram has one of the highest engagement rates in the social media world.
Before using Instagram as a part of your social media strategy, remember that it operates on an interest-based algorithm, not a chronological one. So your posts must pop!
If you want your digital presence to improve mainly with Instagram’s help, use all of its features! Share attention-grabbing posts and captivating stories. Don’t forget to use hashtags to attract more followers, and generate interesting discussions. Alternatively, you could always consider using companies to help you grow your account naturally. Apparently, Nitreo can help Instagram users to grow their accounts. Be sure to read a nitreo review before purchasing new followers though to make sure that it is reliable. However you’re choosing to do it, make sure you grow your Instagram gradually to increase your online presence.
Hashtags can also help you find more followers. I am the hashtag QUEEN.
Make sure to do research on which hashtags are best for your niche.
4. Twitter
If you want to start discussions Twitter is your kingdom!
Several businesses make use of this platform to promote links from their blogs, without actually aiming to boost engagement. I have even been guilty of that. So this year I aim to use this platform in a more engaging way!
I am thinking of using more question-based posts, polls and other thought-provoking content to get more responses and retweets. Twitter chats are amazing ways to jumpstart conversations about your blog and brand and establish a community. They are still pretty popular and work very well.
5. YouTube
Using YouTube as a part of your social media strategy can be complex and time-consuming. However, for those hardworking bloggers who have all the time in the world, making YouTube videos can be a rewarding experience. You can make how-to videos, and interview thought leaders and influencers in your niche!
YouTube is the second biggest search engine in the entire world, and using it can bring about enormous returns. Just don’t forget to send traffic back to your primary website whenever possible!
6. Snapchat
Just like Instagram, Snapchat is a visual platform that allows users to experiment with different types of videos and images to get several people to swipe up to access your website. You can make the most out of your Snapchat account by making a genuine connection with your audience.
Don’t just consider it as a promotional platform, your snaps must be able to humanize you more for your target blog readers. Show them how awesome you are, so you can encourage them to read your blog.
Time to get creative and create content!
Now that you have decided on the social media platform you want to use for blog promotion, it’s time to summon your creativity and create remarkable content for your target readers! This is my favorite part. Let’s do this!
1. Hold contests and giveaways.
With just the word “free,” you can grab the attention of a big group of people. Who doesn’t love free stuff?!
Holding contests and giveaways are a brilliant way to engage with your tribe while working to grow your audience and increase digital presence. Just make sure that the rules of your giveaways are simple and clear!
2. Collaborate with an influencer or another brand in your niche.
Widen your network, grow your social media audience and improve your blog’s traffic all at the same time by collaborating with an influencer. Grab every opportunity to partner up with another brand or influencer with a similar target audience.
Remember, pick a company or a person that is not a direct competitor, but whose readers or audience will also benefit from your offerings. If you are not yet sure how to do this (or shy about approaching someone), feel free to look into another social media strategy or campaign.
Tip for social interviews: Keep in informal. That way, it can come off as authentic to your target audience.
Not being approachable is the perfect WAY to not grow a tribe! You can also repurpose these interviews into YouTube videos, podcasts or more blog posts.
3. Go Live.
Live videos are simple, plain and authentic. Facebook Lives are the bomb! In fact, I do Facebook Lives at least 3 times a week 😉
If you want to focus your social media strategy on Facebook, don’t forget to prioritize Facebook Live videos over pre-recorded ones.
You can use this as an avenue to educate your audience. Tell them how awesome your blog is! By live streaming, you can also talk to them directly, and answer their questions.
The other thing you can do with your Facebook Lives is….
4. Repurpose content.
Content creation requires tons of effort, thorough planning and tons of time.
Just get creative!
How? Well, creativity doesn’t always mean complicated.
You can repurpose some of your old content. This will help you save time, and at the same time add new ideas.
Now, look at your old blog posts. Which one do you want to repurpose first? Afterward, you can “repurpose” it once again by promoting it on a social media platform beyond its original format.
For instance, you can pull out a quote from the content, and then repurpose it by sharing it into an engaging photo through Canva.
5. Use more emojis.
Emojis can make blog and social media posts fun and exciting. You can show to your audience that you, like them, are also an emotional human!
Hello hello hello – I am human…..;-)
According to research done by HootSuite, emojis can improve engagement by 25.4%. Moreover, using emojis on Facebook posts can improve engagement by 57%. The key here is to pick the most relevant emojis in your responses and social media posts.
Additional social media tips!
1. Make a content schedule.
Making a content calendar can help you plan what kinds of posts you want to share, and when you need to get it done.
Think about: How are you planning to distribute that awesome content to the world?
The best format for this is a calendar-based one, as opposed to making a lengthy list of content. In line with this, see to it to prioritize quality over quantity.
Focus on content quality, not the number of posts.

2. Come up with a specific social media strategy for every platform.
Earlier, I shared with you 5 points that you can follow to be creative in the social media world. In general, you can follow those, but at the end of the day, every social media platform needs its own strategy.
What is your special, intentional plan for every platform?
3. Be consistent.
Post consistency depends on the social media platform you are using. Platforms such as Instagram Stories and Twitter require you to be active several times a day in order to make the most out of it.
Other types of posts, like Facebook updates and regular Instagram posts, don’t really have that much urgency. Thus, you can use them sparingly. When it comes to posting strategy, check factors like algorithms.
4. Keep an eye on the trending topics.
Keep an eye on the most popular trends on every platform. In case you see a strategy or pattern increasing in popularity, and suits your messaging well, then capitalize on that to drive in more engagement.
Don’t jump on every trend that you see online. Posting content that doesn’t align well with your brand and messaging may alienate your audience. And you will come across as schizophrenic.
Use social media tools for your convenience.
There are also tons of social media management tools out there that can help you make the most out of your social media profiles. Click here for a list of social media management tools that you can use this 2020.

This is such a great post full of lots of helpful information! I love that you included and talked about all the major social media, not just focused on one. When it comes to my blog, I only focus on Pinterest as that one gives me the best results with minimum effort.
I think it’s important to figure out which platforms are best for you. Some platforms will work better than others so I think it’s best to focus on 1-2 that bring you the most value xx
